The village of Castle Acre is a conservation village on the Peddars Way and the Nar Valley Way with ruins of a Motte and Bailey Castle and a Cluniac Priory (ad 1090). This picturesque backdrop has been seen in many television programmes and films. The property is just off the green through the ancient Bailey Gate. The 400 year old pub in the village serves excellent food, there is a childrens playground, a ford on the River Nar (great for splashing in), a local shop and the surrounding area is ideal for dog walking.

Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. lounge: with woodburner (first basket of logs included) and TV/DVD. Kitchen/diner: with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. Outside: enclosed garden with patio area and garden furniture. Amenities: roadside parking. Bed linen included, (please bring your own towels). No smoking. 1 small dog welcome. Excellent Wi Fi. The property is a great base to enjoy all Norfolk has to offer including Sandringham, part of the Crown Estate. National Trust properties nearby include Oxburgh Hall. Norwich is 30 miles away with shops, restaurants, cathedrals, castle, museums and theatres. The beautiful North Norfolk Coast is a 40 minute drive where you can take a boat out to see the seals at Blakeney or simply wander around the pretty towns and villages including Holt and Burnham Market. Family attractions include Pensthorpe, The Dinosaur Adventure Park and Bewilderwood.
